Licking County Family YMCA Brings Boys Lacrosse To Licking County

High School Boys Lacrosse Team Now Registering

The Licking County Family YMCA, in partnership with Legend Lacrosse, is now registering high school boy athletes interested in playing lacrosse this spring. With fourteen games already scheduled, Legend Lacrosse will compete in the Ohio High School Lacrosse Association Central Club Division. Fashioned after Newark Generals hockey, Legend Lacrosse will combine the best athletes from all high schools in and around the county not currently offering lacrosse (Newark, Newark Catholic, Northridge, Heath, Licking Heights, Licking Valley, Lakewood, Utica, Watkins, Granville Christian and more.) Registration for Legend Lacrosse is $150 and requires a separate high school membership ($35) in the US Lacrosse Association. Registration forms available online HERE or at the front desk of the YMCA.  Registration deadline is January 12, 2012. 

Legend Lacrosse is a new lacrosse organization in Licking County with experienced program leadership. They have partnered with LCFYMCA to bring organized youth lacrosse to the county. The boy’s high school team inaugural season this spring marks the beginning of a planned development that includes girls and boys lacrosse programs in intermediate school through high school.

Legend Lacrosse & LCFYMCA have secured equipment grants from the US Lacrosse Association and Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation and continue to appeal for support. Additional funding is needed for uniforms and additional equipment to offset the individual cost of participation.
